Youngster comes up with big win in New Haven

The youngest competitor in the 2014 US Open National Playoffs - Men's and Women's Singles Championships came up with another big win on Saturday. Fifteen-year-old Michaela Gordon advanced to the semifinals with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over No. 3 seed Jennifer Elie.

Gordon next faces No. 5 seed Jacqueline Cako. The former Arizona State All-American moved into the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rima Astrian. The other women's semifinal will feature Caitlin Whoriskey taking on Ashley Weinhold.

All went according to form in the men's draw, with the top four seeds all advancing to the semifinals. On Sunday, top seed Sanam Singh will face No. 4 seed Ronnie Schneider and No. 2 seed and defending champion Jeff Dadamo will play No. 3 seed Jesse Witten.
